With just a few weeks to go until the semester begins, here are some things to review before we meet. Please note that textbook and Canvas rules only apply to my classes and not for other instructors with TCC.

Summer Semesters:

I'm teaching two sections of U.S. History II. One class meets two days a week on campus. The other class is 100% online. Details below:
 U.S. History II (HIS 122) 11:00am - 12:50pm
  • Textbook: A free textbook will be made available to you via PDF download within the Canvas shell. If you would like a physical textbook, you can find a hardback version of on Amazon for $50. You can also find it for cheap on Kindle and in the iStore:

Usual Fall Semester Schedule

Western Civ I (HIS 101)
  • Textbook: You do not need to purchase a textbook for this class. A free course packet will be available for you in Canvas.
  • Canvas: If you’re not used to the system, take some time to play around in it before class starts. Also, download the app. It’ll save you from checking Canvas so often. All assignments, grades, and out of class announcements will be posted there.
World Civ I (HIS 111)
  • Textbook: You do not need to purchase a textbook for this class. A .pdf to a free textbook will be available to you in Canvas.
  • This class is typically taught on campus.
World Civ II (HIS 112)
  • Textbook: You are free to use the previous edition of the textbook. The current textbook is also on reserve in the library.
  • This class is taught 100% online within the Canvas shell.
