 Genealogy Services

Genealogical Research
  • $30/hr - 12 hr minimum
All pricing is inclusive of location fees and expenses. As specifically as possible, tell me who you're trying to find, which family branch you want me to follow, or what you need me to prove. Email copies of your previous research so that I'm not walking a road already traveled. Once my research is complete, you will receive a research log, copies of documents, a .pdf of the genealogical research (and a GEDCOM if desired), pedigree charts, family group sheets, and cemetery pictures with each source noted.

Document Acquisition from Local Sources
  • $60 flat fee (digital and paper copies)
  • $30 flat fee (scanned in copies only)
You know what you want and you know where it is, but you live on the other side of the country.

I scan and then send digital and paper copies of the requested files. Price already includes printing and shipping fees for the first 20 pages. Areas covered:
  • Virginia: Chesapeake, Norfolk, Portsmouth, Suffolk, Virginia Beach
  • Virginia: Franklin, Isle of Wight, Smithfield, Windsor, Newport News, Hampton
  • North Carolina: Gates County

Drowning in Paper Life Preserver
  • $350 flat fee
You have binders and binders of information that need to be digitized.

I scan all documents, type in all handwritten family data, update (or create) GEDCOM files, and send all your originals back with copies of your new digitized family history. Bonus, you get to see the top of your desk again. This process takes about two weeks from the time I receive your documents (assuming one Large USPS Flat Rate Box size of material). Each large flat rate box beyond that is $55.
